1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Sonar VPN ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Sonar VPN provides on-demand VPN (Virtual Private Network) access through WireGuard protocol. The Service allows you to:

• Establish secure, encrypted internet connections
• Route your internet traffic through our servers
• Access the internet with enhanced privacy

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

• You must provide a valid email address
• You must create a secure password
• You must verify your email address
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account

3.2 Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old
• You must not be located in a sanctioned country
• You must comply with all applicable laws

4. Payment and Billing

4.1 Pay-As-You-Go Pricing

• First-time users (trial): Hour 1 FREE, Hour 2 $1.00 USD, Hour 3+ $0.25 USD per hour
• Returning users: Hour 1 $1.00 USD, Hour 2+ $0.25 USD per hour
• Billing is calculated on session duration
• You are charged when you stop a VPN session

4.2 Payment Method

• You must provide a valid payment method (credit/debit card)
• Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc.
• By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge your payment method
• Charges occur automatically when you end a VPN session

4.3 No Refunds

• All charges are final and non-refundable
• This is a postpaid service - you are charged for time used
• Partial sessions are billed in full hours (minimum 1 hour)
• No credits, refunds, or chargebacks will be issued

4.4 Failed Payments

• If payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method again
• Repeated payment failures may result in account suspension
• You remain responsible for all unpaid charges

4.5 Pricing Changes

• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice
• Pricing changes do not affect active sessions

5. Acceptable Use Policy

5.1 Permitted Use

You may use the Service for:

• Enhancing your privacy and security
• Accessing geo-restricted content
• Protecting your data on public Wi-Fi

5.2 Prohibited Activities

You may NOT use the Service for:

• Illegal activities (hacking, fraud, cybercrime)
• Distributing malware or viruses
• Spam or phishing
• Copyright infringement or piracy
• Port scanning or network attacks
• Running public servers or relay nodes
• Excessive bandwidth abuse (>1TB per month)
• Sharing your account with others

5.3 SMTP Port Blocking

• Port 25 (SMTP) is blocked to prevent spam
• This prevents email spam originating from our servers
• Use your email provider's submission port (587 or 465)

5.4 Enforcement

We reserve the right to:

• Immediately terminate accounts violating these terms
• Report illegal activity to law enforcement
• Suspend service without notice or refund

6. Service Availability

6.1 Uptime

• We aim for 99% uptime but make no guarantees
• Maintenance windows may cause temporary outages
• We are not liable for service interruptions

6.2 Session Limits

• One active session per account
• Sessions automatically terminate after 24 hours
• You must manually stop sessions to end billing

6.3 Server Locations

• We currently operate in Ohio (us-east-2)
• Additional regions may be added
• We do not guarantee specific server locations

7. Privacy and Data

7.1 No Logging Policy

• We do not log your browsing activity
• We do not log your traffic content
• We do not log DNS queries

7.2 Data We Collect

We collect minimal data required for operation:

• Email address (account identification)
• Payment information (processed by Stripe, not stored by us)
• Session metadata (start time, end time, duration, cost)
• Connection metadata (IP address, connection timestamp)

7.3 Data Retention

• Session history: Retained indefinitely for billing
• Connection logs: Deleted after 7 days
• Account data: Deleted 30 days after account closure

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Rights

• The Service, including all code, design, and trademarks, is owned by us
• You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer our software
• "Sonar VPN" and our logo are our trademarks

8.2 Your Rights

• You retain ownership of data you transmit through the Service
• You grant us permission to transmit your data as necessary to provide the Service

9. Disclaimers

9.1 No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9.2 No Guarantee of Anonymity

• While we enhance privacy, we do not guarantee anonymity
• VPN services can be compromised by various means
• You are responsible for your own security practices

9.3 Not for Critical Use

• Do not rely on the Service for life-critical applications
• Do not use for healthcare, aviation, or similar critical systems

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 3 months
• We are not liable for data loss, security breaches, or service interruptions
• We are not liable for third-party actions (your ISP, government, hackers)

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any law
• Your violation of third-party rights
• Your use or misuse of the Service

12. Account Termination

12.1 Your Right to Terminate

• You may close your account at any time
• Log in and delete your account from settings
• You remain responsible for all charges incurred before termination

12.2 Our Right to Terminate

We may terminate your account:

• For violation of these Terms
• For non-payment
• For suspected fraudulent activity
• At our discretion with 30 days notice

12.3 Effect of Termination

• Active sessions are immediately terminated
• You lose access to usage history
• No refunds for unused time

13. Changes to Terms

• We may modify these Terms at any time
• Changes will be posted with updated "Last Updated" date
• Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
• Material changes will be emailed to registered users

14. Governing Law

• These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA
• Any disputes will be resolved in courts located in Ohio
• You waive the right to jury trial or class action

15. Dispute Resolution

15.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at support@example.com to resolve the dispute informally.

15.2 Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules.

15.3 No Class Actions

You agree to bring claims individually, not as part of a class action.

16. Miscellaneous

16.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us.

16.2 Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

16.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.

16.4 Assignment

You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to a successor.

16.5 Force Majeure

We are not liable for failures due to events beyond our control (natural disasters, war, etc.).
